Hey there, I’m Joseph Olson. Most people call me Joe but I prefer Joseph.   I try to balance life with working and volunteering but volunteering often wins out.  My good buddy ‘little’ and I hang out a bunch! We learn a ton from each other! I’m a city boy living in St. Paul, MN and trying to figure out my path in life. Welcome to my story.

I’m the youngest sibling of 4, of course I’m the favorite, and I think that has had a lot to do with my lot in life and they way I approach things.

I went to Catholic school throughout high school, and went out to Saint Cloud State for college.  A high school teacher of mine once told us a story of the Bailey and Barnum Circus.  Whenever they would come into town on the trains or in a caravan they would stop a mile or so outside of the city, unload the animals and machinery and wheel it through the town. They would sneak a trapeze artists up to hang between buildings and do tricks.  The elephants would make a mess coming down the street.  Usually a few arrests and fines were dolled out… but everyone in the city would know they were there.  There advertising fees were whatever the municiple police station would fine them. Brilliant! That was it! After that story I new I wanted to go into marketing. That’s what I got my degree in an at SCSU.

Right after I started working at Augeo Affinity Marketing in St. Paul.  It’s been a great ride so far and I’ve learned a ton. We do work for clients like Home Depot, US Foodservice, Bank of America.  It’s fun working for such large clients. With our great work we can usually do some pretty neat events to get their base stirred up!

One of my favorite hobbies is to promote Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Twin Cities! They are a great organization in here in the cities that really get to the heart of issues.  ’little’ (not his real name, rather intuitive I know… but some have been confused) and I hang out on a regular basis and try to become real men together! Change oil, ride horses, clean stalls, bbq, throw the ball around… we do a lot!  BBBS also asks us to show up at events for them too. We MC’d a talent show, we go to the annual auction supporting to the organization put on by the Federated Challenge.

I love the Minnesota seasons… nothing like biking to work in the Spring, Summer, and Fall, or conquering the freezing weather by playing hockey outside in subzero temps in a light sweater. It’s almost as if you’re defeating nature if only for a half hour. You’re not keeping me inside! I can’t get enough of the snow!

Recently my other spare time is helping Shea, my wonderful fiance!! help plan our wedding. She’s an amazing woman and I’m incredibly lucky that she agreed to spend the rest of her life with me!

We have a great group of friends in the area and with the culinary options around we eat out a ton!! but also find ourselves whooping up new recipes in the kitchen too!  We all love to entertain each other, and enjoy the outdoor weather as long as we have a chance in the hinter land way up here! Basically… we love food!

If I find any other time I love to promote other blogs/websites and help my friends/clients set up venues to produce their thoughts, idea’s and services.

My dream, other than marrying the love of my life and producing a large brood of urchins, is to get a sweet dog, and drive around with him the truck right next to me most days… Also, if you can’t contact me, hopefully i’m unreachable on the Boundary Waters Canoe Area up near Canada! Home away from Home!
